EVENTS

August 7th 2005, Silent Auction

The Silent Auction for the Brian Reed Cancer Fund was held Sunday, August 7th at Sonu and JJ's house in Great Falls, VA. It was a phenomenal celebration of Brain and Erin and their friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors. It was a spectacular outlet for the hundreds of people who have wanted to help the Reeds for so long but weren't sure how. The event was attended by more than 350 people and a great time was had by all.

Kids were entertained with moonbounces, face painting, and a live animal show by Animal Ambassadors. Adults had a chance to act like kids and bid on over 140 items including sports tickets and memorabilia, kids baskets, jewelry and fashion items, art and photography and many vacation get-aways. The energy and excitement of those bidding was contagious and so much fun. We sincerely thank all the donors of auction items, the generosity was truly amazing.

Although it was a scorcher, everyone made the best of it catching some shade under the tent and relaxing to music provided by WMZQ. For extra relaxation one could get a 15-minute chair massage from the pros at Massage Pro. There were also plenty of refreshments to keep us going. We'd like to thank Mortons, The Palm, Landini Brothers Domino's Pizza, and Dunkin' Donuts. Turkey Hill provided ice cream cups, Drink More Water supplied us with bottles of water personalized just for our event, and dozens of volunteers brought delicious food and beverages.

It took the help of many people to pull off this event successfully and we thank all our volunteers and sponsors. It was a day to be remembered, a day where friends and friends-of-friends came together from across the country to support Brian, Erin, Carter and Anna. It was a day that they will always remember and for that we thank you.
